All academic appointees, staff, and temporary positions who handle or access student records data are responsible for ensuring they understand the FERPA regulation and IU policies and procedures related to the safeguarding and release of student information. Use the Enterprise Application Compliance tool in One.IU to verify the compliance status of of a user.
Bloodborne Pathogen Training for Non-Laboratory Staff
Type of training: E-Training

Recurrence: Annual
All employees with occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens shall participate in a training program. Training shall be provided to all existing Indiana University employees initially and annually as long as the occupational exposure is still a risk of the employee's job. New employees shall participate in a training program at the time of initial assignment to tasks where occupational exposure may take place. Indiana University staff may receive annual training online through E-Training. In-class training is performed for initial training and annual refresher upon special request.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training

This course is intended to train supervisors and employees on the proper standard procedures for using personal protective equipment (PPE) for protection against potential occupational exposure hazards when engineering and administrative controls are not feasible or effective.

This course is a prerequisite for users to gain access to certain IU systems. This tutorial explains the types of employee data contained in HRMS, as well as the proper way to handle, share, and dispose of this information. Form I-9 Compliance Online Training

The Form I-9 Training must be completed by any IU employee wishing to gain or retain access to the GIS Compli-9 System. You will be required to complete 6 training modules and corresponding quizzes to get access to the system.
IU Legal Compliance for Managers
Type of training: E-Training
Timeline to complete: Within 30 days of hire
Recurrence: One-time training
Legal Compliance For Managers at IU is a series designed to provide you, a manager and People Leader at IU, with important information pertaining to federal and state employee protection laws. This training is required for all IU staff whose role is classified as a People Leader within the IU Job Framework.
Child Abuse Recognition, Reporting and Prevention of Child Abuse Training

The Programs Involving Children (PIC) policy was created to ensure the overall protection and safety of children involved in Indiana University programs through the use of: background checks, program registration, a mandate for program-specific guidelines, and the legal duty to report suspected child abuse and neglect.

This training is for all academic appointees, staff, temporary, student, affiliate, and volunteer positions that work with protected health information (PHI) and need to understand their responsibilities when using mobile devices. You are required to take this training one time and this module alone does not count towards the annual training requirement. New academic, staff, and temporary employees should take this course in addition to the HIPAA Privacy & Security module.

Creating Accessible Documents at Work

This course is recommended for academic appointees, staff, and temporary positions, but is available to anyone that wants to enroll in the course. In this course, you'll learn how to make accessible documents for work in Microsoft Word. This course covers working with various tools in Word to create a document that can be read by screen readers, as well as how to add descriptive text to items like images, tables, and hyperlinks.
