Grab your gear

There’s no reason to break the bank shopping for expensive equipment. At IU Outdoor Adventures, you can buy, rent, or borrow the gear you need at competitive prices while helping our mission of supporting students. What could be better?

To begin the equipment rental process, please submit a Gear Rental Request.

Upcoming holiday closures:
Labor Day: Sun., Sept. 1–Mon., Sept. 2

Thanksgiving Break: Sun., Nov. 24–Sun., Dec. 1

The last day our gear shop will be open during the fall semester is Friday, Dec. 20.

All IU students, faculty, and staff receive a 10% discount on personal rentals.

Rental rates

Gear rental reservations can be made on site during our open hours, but drop-in reservations cannot be guaranteed. In order to provide you with the equipment you need, we recommend that your rental request be submitted 48 hours in advance. For IU holiday break periods, there will be a minimum 2–3 night rental rate. Payment can be made by bursar, credit/debit card, or CrimsonCash.

Long-term rental discounts

Discounts are available for long-term (more than one week) rentals.

  • 8–14 nights: 10% off standard rental rate
  • 15–21 nights: 20% off standard rental rate
  • 22–28 nights: 30% off standard rental rate
  • 29+ nights: 40% off standard rental rate
