About Mercedes

Mercedes Winkelman serves as a Care Coordinator in the Student Care and Resource Center. Mercedes joined the Care Team in January 2024.

As a Care Coordinator, Mercedes oversees the processing of Care Referrals and assists students with navigating challenging times and difficult situations. Mercedes is the Student Care and Resource Center’s liaison to the Office of Student Conduct and local law enforcement agencies. Mercedes also leads the Student Care and Resource Center’s event "Treat Yourself: Thriving in Finals Week" each semester.

Prior to this position, Mercedes served as a Crisis Intervention Services Coordinator at Middle Way House.

Mercedes is a proud Hoosier alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Mercedes is currently pursuing her M.S.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education from the IU School of Education.
