Get connected

Your connection to Indiana University goes beyond the classroom. Whether you’re looking to meet other military-connected students, have your voice represented in student government, or stay connected to the IU military-affiliated community after graduation, there are several ways to get involved.

Explore the opportunities below to find the connection that’s right for you.

Military Outreach Society

Connect with fellow military-connected students at IU Bloomington. The Military Outreach Society creates a supportive community for students and individuals with military experience, helping members thrive academically, socially, and personally while connecting the worlds of service and academia.

IUSG military-affiliated student representative

Military-affiliated students have a voice in Indiana University Student Government (IUSG). The military-affiliated student representative helps bring the experiences, priorities, and concerns of IU’s military-connected student community into conversations about student life and campus decision-making.

Students are encouraged to connect with their representative to share feedback, raise concerns, learn about student government initiatives, or find ways to become more involved on campus.

Military-Affiliated Student Alumni (MAS)

The Military Affiliated Student Alumni (MAS) affiliate group of the Indiana University Alumni Association connects military-affiliated students and alumni across IU campuses and beyond.

Sponsored by the IU Bloomington Center for Veteran & Military Students, MAS creates opportunities for veterans, service members, military-connected family members, students, and alumni to build relationships throughout their IU journey—from enrollment through post-degree life.

MAS serves as a hub for connection, mentorship, networking, and professional development, helping strengthen career pathways and build lasting relationships within IU’s military-affiliated community.

The group uses an opt-in, primarily virtual model so alumni and students can participate regardless of where they live. Engagement opportunities will include virtual networking, in-person alumni gatherings, mentorship and professional connections, and collaboration with student organizations such as the Military Outreach Society.

MAS is also building a network of alumni volunteers and leaders who can help strengthen connections between current students and IU alumni.
